GIS/Planning Specialist - Buckeye Hills Regional Council of Government
My experience in local government began when I was a GIS/Planning Specialist for Buckeye Hills Regional Council of Governments. There, I focused my daily activities on community and economic development of an 8-county region in SE Ohio that encompasses Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Morgan, Monroe, Noble, Perry and Washington counties plus all of the townships, municipalities and small towns across the region.
I helped communities plan for and facilitate infrastructure improvements among other activities such as transportation planning, and community economic development initiatives.

After my time at Buckeye Hills I worked at Ohio University as the Program Manager for Facilities Management and Safety. At the University I oversaw the infrastructure archives for over 300 buildings and 1500 acres across the main campus and 8 regional campuses across Ohio.

Director of Geospatial Services, Surveying and Mapping, and Data Collection - EDG
Following my time with Ohio University I was the Director of Geospatial Services with an Architectural, Engineering, and Construction firm based in Akron Ohio. There I worked with state, regional, and local governments to help them with civil engineering needs related to local infrastructure and utility systems improvements.

Professor - Cleveland State University
One day per week, I teach a course at Cleveland State University in the Levin School of Urban Affairs. In this role I teach students seeking careers as City Managers, Public Administrators and Community Planners how to use GIS to help communities achieve operational efficiency, effective planning and decision making, enhance public safety, and improve community engagement.

President - Mapped Out
Currently I am the President of Mapped Out. At Mapped Out we work with over 15 municipalities in Ohio, 5 counties, and 3 regional government agencies. We provide them with municipal services enabling planning, zoning, engineering, IT, Police, Fire, Parks and Rec departments to harness the power of location information (GIS).
